Service learning molds the character. one has to step out of the comfort zone and move in to reality. Then you can realize where are you on the journey of humanity. life time is not long. but if you can see the use of your life in a broaden prospect if you are connected to service learning .
As one of the occupant of the world for a limited time have you ever thought of the current state of the world.
"Nearly 1/2 of the population, more that 3 billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty, less that $1.25 a day. 1 billion Children worldwide are living in poverty. "According to UNICEF, 22000 children die each day due to poverty.
How can service learning connected to eradicate poverty. Firstly it creates awareness. once explore you will see the depth of the situation around you, either just within your environment or far away from you. Then it encourages you to think about it and see what we can do. How we can help. We can share our time, energy, knowledge and resources to help. Service learning is a key tool for a solution. At young age once you start thinking on humanity then it drives you to do something for making a better world. your exposure and experience make a real sense of living and enormous pleasure of participating in action oriented projects around you or travelling to a place where you can contribute.
Travelling takes you to variety of cultures. many interesting people, challenges. habits, food and ways of leisure.
One can start from a little effort, like tiny drops of water makes oceans it will grow.
